Upgrade from XP Home to XP Pro?

Guest

I have a dell desktop with XP Home pre-installed. I'd like to use XP Pro
instead to take advantage of fully-featured Remote Desktop. Is it possible to
upgrade to XP Pro without buying the full $300 license?

Hi

All depends where you are. An Upgrade wouldn't cost that much.

Well, I'm in the USA. Are you saying I should buy the $199 upgrade? Or is
there something even less pricey?

I've seen the upgrade version on sale in local retail outlets
recently for $99.99 after rebate. This week it looks like
$149.99 is the lowest price.

Windows XP Professional with SP2, Upgrade Version

If you don't mind dealing with rebates and are willing to shop
around, I'd bet that you'll see some local stores offering the
upgrade version of XP Pro for $99.99 in the next two weeks as
part of their "Back to School" promotions.

Good luck

Yes, the Retail Upgrade version of XP Pro will work just fine to
upgrade your OEM XP Home.

Shop around a bit for the best price. I see Staples has it listed
online for $179.99US

Good luck
