Upgrade from the beta/rc versions.

I read that upgrade from the beta/rc versions won't be possible. The
incorporation of a means to do so, with a prompt to insert the disk from an
eligible product, would be nice. I recall that XP Home Upgrade had this
feature with a clean install (i.e. it prompted for an eligible upgrade
product), so it seems that the code/functionality already exists.

Thanks

Hi Dan,

Upgrades to RTM from beta2 and RC1 are supported test scenarios, so this may
be possible. Nothing is set in stone yet. It will still require a full
version disk, a true "upgrade" being from a prior OS, not a test version.
Keep in mind also that usually the final installed version be the same as
the betas, meaning if you're testing with Ultimate, you will need to final
install with that same level or higher. But again, nothing is set in stone
yet.
