So you installed a much less efficient operating system to make your
computer faster? Does that make any sense to you?

Try installing Windows 98, it is more reliable than Me in many
people's opinion. A better alternative would be to get better hardware
that is more appropriate for a contemporary version of Windows.

How much memory do you have installed?

BTW, this is a W2K NG...

BTW, there is no such thing as XP2003 that I know of... Did you
install W2k3 (server) or XP? Or W2K?

Oops....

OS Name Microsoft Windows XP Professional
Total Physical Memory 128.00 MB
Available Physical Memory 24.24 MB
Total Virtual Memory 2.00 GB
Available Virtual Memory 1.96 GB

Forgiven...

Increase RAM to at least 512M, better yet 1GB. Make sure your hard
drive is reasonably fast (replace it if need be, drives are cheap).

But Windows XP is a power hog, and you'll never get the same
performance as Windows 98 (or Windows Me, which is a buggier version
of Windows 98 so to speak.)

Hi Peter,
thanks for your help, will take advantage of the seasons sales and make
necessary upgrades as suggested. Let you know how I go most likely after
December holidays.
