UPGRADE ADVICE REQ: Have ECS K7VZA, PCB 3.0 MoBo, replace or upgrade components?

I have an ECS K7VZA, PCB 3.0 motherboard in current system but
building my dream machine from scratch. I just got my CoolerMaster
WaveMaster case and need help gathering components, little by little,
piece by piece, as my monthly budget will allow. Should I replace my
current motherboard or upgrade individual components?

I am not a game player but I've started meddling with creating DVD
movies and manipulating graphical images. I like the idea of OnBoard
Wi-Fi but not sure if it the standard will change soon from what's
being offerred now.
I'd like options for SATA drives and Firewire/USB 2.0 connections.

Can my current mobo use the new DDR RAM?? Any advise appreciated.
Any suggestions on where to purchase components?
Which Power supply should I get? Best memory choice?

TIA,
Arawak

Your K7VZA cannot use DDR SDRAM, nor can it handle the new Barton core CPUs.
You will need to upgrade CPU, RAM and motherboard in one go. My choice would
be for Antec PSU and Crucial RAM.
