I want to get some updates but only the WGA spyware is visible - how do I
get to the latest updates without installing it?

Thanks

Turn on automatic updates.

Does this allow me to get updates without installing WGA Spyware?

Yes, that's how people who have pirated copies of XP get theirs. I would
set it to download but let you decide what and when to install the
updates. Once they're downloaded, choose the "custom" installation so
you can pick and choose which downloads you want to install. Once that's
done, you'll have to reboot and the balloon will pop up again for the
ones you didn't pick. Mark them as "don't show this update again" and
you're done. Sometimes you have to reboot before you can get the wizard
going. Not only would I exclude WGA, I would exclude IE7 if I were you.

I have hidden IE7 update, but every time I do the manual update, a
warning appears saying I have hidden "high priority" updates. How do I
get rid of that?

No idea. I just ignore it.

have you installed the IE7 blocker ?

What for?
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...F7-5D44-482B-9DBD-869B4A90159C&displaylang=en

obviously, before you download validation is required... and will install
WGA
then again, if you are running a proper licensed copy of windows, why all
the fuzzz

I have downloaded all the WGA stuff. When I do a reinstall, I won't.
Why? It's a flawed program, that's why and it doesn't help me or my
computer one iota.

right ?

I'd rather ignore it than download and install something from Microsoft,
thank you very much.

Not sure how that is related to the rest of the thread...

However - as far as I know - you don't.
It's telling you what you did.
You did hide high-priority update.

Now maybe there is a way to permanently hide these - but as it is a web page
and it is probably keeping the fact you hid it on your computer somehow...
I doubt it.
