Updating the LMHOSTS file

Hello;

I am trying to update the lmhosts file on about 100 Win2k Pro systems in a
domain. On some of the systems, the file is set to read only. Since the
users do not have administrative rights to the system, they cannot remove
the read only flag.

How can I give the users permission through the domain to remove the read
only flag and update the lmhosts file?

use wins, and not LMHOSTS and the problem will go away.

Why would you want to maintain 100 LMHost files? Why not use a WINS server?
