updating in stock from a text box value in form

ok on my form i have a field where i enter the quantity of a certain item
being bought. i want it to update the "in stock" field from my submenu2
table by subtracting out the number in the quantity box, i need it to only
update for the item that is selected in the drop box next to it, how do i
update it like this?
