Updating COntacts from Global Address Book

Help!

I am not able to update records from the Global Address Book by using "Add
to Contacts" function. It seems to go through the process and even offers a
dialogue box to "update existing" but some records never become visible in
Contacts.

I'm curious. If the addresses are in the GAL, why add them to your Contacts
folder?
