updating compact framework

I've been developing an application using version 1.0.5 of the compact
framework. I'm not wanting/needing to use the XMLserializer which appears
to only be available in 2.0? . If I update how likely is it to completely
screw everything from the old version up?

Copy the project to a new folder, upgrade it in VS 2005. There may be some
minor differences that affect you, but probably not.
