I am trying to put together something with Powerpoint and Excel I
thought would be very simple, but up to now I haven't succeeded.
We have 2 computers (PC 1 and PC2) connected to the same network inside
the company. PC1 captures data and continuously runs an Excel macro
providing statistical indicators of the production quality. These
results are graphs and values, which are constantly updated.
We would like to display these results on PC2 which is connected to a
large flat panel screen. The idea was to create a ppt presentation and
have it run constantly, using a defined time base for each slide, with
the restart feature activated.
This doesn't work because the presentation is not updated when Excel
results change, lthough the charts are pasted with a link. I have tried
several tricks, such as updating the links, but it seems this action
cannot be recorded in a ppt macro.
I would like to avoid developing VBA applications, so that making
changes to the displayed data would not need any software changes, just
a few copy/paste from Excel to Powerpoint.
Is that possible? (it sounds so simple, it should be!) What do you
suggest?
Thanks a lot in advance
