Updating a field for multiple records--copy and paste?

Hi,

I am using Access 2003 and I have a list of 300 students that I need to
assign to either one of two coaches. I want to avoid having to manually enter
the coaches' names 150 times each, is there a way to copy and paste data down
a column in Access (like you can in Excel)? I would like to be able to just
copy and past the same name down a list of 100 students.

The appropriate way to do that in Access is to use an Update query.

Thank you, that's what I thought.

I may post another question soon asking how to use criteria in an update
query. My list has about 2000 students on it but I only need to update a
field for a specific subset.
