I am running a 2K advanced server network.
Is there a way I can get the 2k workstations to automatically download and
install critical updates and and service packs when a non administrator logs
on?

Hi there

You will probably want to look at Software Update Services.

There is also a SUS newsgroup at microsoft.public.softwareupdatesvcs. Any
question, direct them there.

Since you posted this in the group policy newsgroup, I'll add that it is
very easy to configure the automatic updates client (included in Windows
2000 SP3 and above) to point to the SUS server using group policy.
