For the 8007000B error message try this:
1. Click Start, and then type cmd in the Start Search box.
2. In the search results list, right-click Command Prompt, and then click
Run as
Administrator.
3. When you are prompted by User Account Control, click Continue.
4. At the command prompt, type "fsutil resource setautoreset true C:\ ",
without the quotation marks and then
press ENTER.
5. Reboot your machine and try to update again

I had the same problem and merely opened up the 'See Available Updates'
window
and unchecked many of the updates and installed them 2 or 3 at a time.

A bit laborious but it worked for me. Thanks, Frank

JimR Thanks that worked for KB930178, not sure about others. At least going
in right direction. Thanks Again
