Hi! I hope this is an easy fix. I had to reinstall my XP Home Edition due to
some corrupted files. With that, I also had to re-download all of the updates
including those mentioned in the subject title. My challenge is that I had my
external backup hooked up to my laptop while I was doing this and those two
folder updates somehow ended up in my external instead of my C drive. Now I
cannot remove the external safely. I was wondering two things:

1) How do I move these two folders to my C drive and have the information
run on the C drive?

2) Is there something else I should do to safely remove the external?

It seems the external and my laptop are communicating due to this errant
update location, but I am not sure. Any advice would be awesome!!!

1. Uninstall the updates (whatever they are) & reboot.

2. Delete any related, remaining folders or files on the external drive.

3. Remove/disconnect the external drive.

4. Run Disk Cleanup.

5. Reinstall the updates.

Thank you - I wasn't sure what that was. I downloaded about 20 different
updates and had no idea what that was and how it was the only updat that
ended up on my external.

I appreciate your instruction...

Windows Update will avail itself of the drive with the most memory available
when installing updates. Best to disconnect all external drives prior to
installing an update.
