Updater Module Message

I keep getting a message that says- updater module has encountered a problem
and may have to close Would you like to report the problem? I would like to
get rid of it if anyone may have a solution.

You're obviously going to have to hunt down whatever software is trying to
get onto the web to update itself !
If using a 3rd party firewall, inspect the list of firewall rules, for
applications, that have been created.
Wade through all your installed software and identify which have "Check for
updates" switched on, ...and maybe switch some off !

....just a couple of thoughts !
