updated outlook express-how do I transfer data from old program

Upon install of updates for XP, Outlook Express has been updated. How do I
access/ transfer data such as addresses and stored emails from old program? I
am not the most computer literate person in the world, so if you know the
answer, please A-B-C outline the steps I will need to take. Thanks.
