updated drivers for graphics chip SIS 650

As mentioned elsewhere I cannot get Flashplayer 9 to load, it was suggested
at work I update the graphics drivers. It appears that my PC has aSIS 650
chip and there is an updated driver available. Once I have downloaded the
file from the SIS site how do I install the new driver? Should I even be
trying to do this, is there any chance that I will end up with a blanks
screen? What precautions should I take in case the new driver does not work?

The installation instructions should be provided with the driver, check
the site again. Safe Mode would remain available. And If you don't like
the driver, Windows Device Manager has the "Rollback driver" button. Go
look and see first if you wish.
