Unlocker v1.7.3

Overview :

"Cannot delete Folder: It is being used by another person or program.
Close any programs that might be using the file and try again." Ever had
such an annoying message given by Windows? It has many other flavors:
"Cannot delete file: Access is denied", "There has been a sharing
violation.", "The source or destination file may be in use.", "The file
is in use by another program or user. Make sure the disk is not full or
write-protected and that the file is not currently in use." Unlocker is
the solution! Simply right click the folder or file and select Unlocker.
If the folder or file is locked, a window listing of lockers will appear.
Simply select the lockers and click Unlock and you are done!

Greetings Arjan,

I am a Unlocker user and have yet to find
a file it can't handle. Congrats on the new
v1.73 release.

Are you planning on adding a feature to disable
the "call home" to check for update. Something
that could be accessed from the program group
listing. Unlocker is polite, it's announcements
are few and simple. However some organizations
do not allow this behavior and it is a bother
to block Unlocker at the fire wall.

I noticed you are fixing the explorer extension
issues. I've been having a go with them myself.
If it's not too much trouble could you point me
to a online resource, if you know of one, that could
be of help.

Namtog,

I am not the developer of this software.
Just the one that reported an update of this software.

I was never able to use this software. It comes up with an error
message. I think it wants to have debugging option enabled which is not
a choice that is available in my XP Home (sp2).

I use it on XP Home (SP2) without problems. I've never found a file or
folder which it could not delete. I would suggest you inform the author of
the error message you receive.

Thanks!

Great, I installed it as there was an urgent need, and it worked (Win XP
hole SP2).

But what is the sense of locking files, and why is the unlocker necessary ?

A file can be locked up for example when it's in use. Normally there's a
reason when a file is locked up. You should only unlock (and delete) a
file when you know what you're doing, because you can screw up your
system pretty easy this way.
You only have to use this program when something goes wrong and a
file/folder gets locked up, while it's not in use. And mainly when you
remove spyware etc., because that's quite often very hard to remove.
In it's sort this program is by far the best I know.
