Anybody knows where I can find hotfix 888603 to disable Volume Shadow
Copy Service over Windows XP?

Do you know why It is not available in microsoft.com?

As the article you posted says, you need to call Microsoft for obtaining
the patch. They'll send it to you via eMail normally. And they will
*not* charge you anything since 888603 is a known issue.

Thanks Florian,

I have read it in the article, but I was afraid that calling Microsoft
for the hotfix might be a long process. However, I have just called
Microsoft support and I already have the hotfix
