"UPDATE" "Status" Windows appearing on restarts

I have a new window that has just started appearing
whenever I restart my computer (Win XP Pro) It is a
Window titled UPDATE with another window inside titled
Status with the following text. Does anyone know what
might have caused this and how I fix it. My machine has
quaranteened several virus files lately but I don't know
if any other damage.

Probably a virus- I have seen this on a machine running XP Home that
had the IRC Trojan virus on it. Even after the Windows Update was run
the system would act the same way as you describe. Disable the items
in the start-up with msconfig and then update the virus definitions
and scan the system.
