Rename Master
http://www.joejoesoft.com/rm.php

Rename Master is a FREE utility for renaming large groups
of files with a few clicks. Anyone that has worked with
websites, file archives, or collections of music, videos, or
pictures has probably spent way too much time renaming
hundreds of files.

This utility will add, remove, or replace parts of the filename
with ease and also supports renaming via file properties,
MP3 tags, JPEG JFIF and EXIF tags. Batch renaming
that's simple to use, yet still very powerful.

Features
- Intelligent number sorting
- JPEG/MP3 tag support and many more Meta-Variables
- Auto-Preview support
- "Scipts" to save commonly used renaming options
- [*]and [?] command prompt style wildcards for replacing
and remove options
- "Undo" so a renaming operation can be rolled back
- Floating thumbnail window for viewing pictures

Requirements
The new version is written in Delphi 6 and should run
on any Windows OS - no install program is needed.

Changes in v2.5.0
Fix: Pressing the "Move Up" button repeatedly crashes the program
New: Checkbox to show thumbnails in the file list (finally!)
New: Thumbnail Preview window updated with Preview/Next file buttons
New: Thumbnail Preview window updated with current file name
New: Thumbnail Preview window shows JPEG/EXIF tags
New: Unchanged names shown in grey instead of ghosting the icon
New: Collisions names shown in a bold font
New: Folder Properties button in the file path area
New: Alternating background colors for rows in the filelist
New: Full row selection, when any column but Name is clicked
New: Hotkeys for buttons like Clear and Preview

Changes in v2.4.6
Fix: Date Created time not updated for current timezone
Fix: "Range Check Error" produced for some JPEG EXIF data
Fix: Workaround for illegal EXIF date formats
Fix: "Capitalize Words" updated to handle all capitalized names
New: "Find and insert after" update to also insert "before"
New: Ability to find and move string in the Add2 tab

Changes in v2.4.5
Fix: Filter did not replicate command prompt behavoir for [*.] and [*.*]

Hey now don't shoot the messenger,

I don't give a frig if you use the program or not.

In fact, you don't even have to thank me for taking the

time to bring these facts to your attention,

and I don't need to go to their Website........

Look here.....You go to ''Cool web search'' site and they

tell you they are "The Search Engine you Trust"

http://www.coolwebsearch.com/hijacking.html

Now everybody knows otherwise......!!!!!

Then you go to......

http://www.internet-security.ca/internet-security-news-008/cool-web-search.html

and they tell you...."CoolWebSearch: the worst spyware so far".

So whats the use of going to ''Rename Master's web site''

Anyway my previous post was to bring these facts to your

attention so you could be better informed.

I have 101 things to do, other than to post info to

people who may or may not appreciate it.........

Sam......!!!

My apologies,had a bad day,

no I haven't used the program,or gone to their site.

I just get a little nervous when something sounds too

good.

I just thought you might want to do a little research

before you use it.

Sorry

Sam........

I did not download Jackass JoeJoe's Rename Master (have no use for it), but
I am sure that it does not contain spyware. I dare anyone to actually
download it and confirm that it comes with spyware.

The links that Samantha provided do tell that *a* program called Rename
Master is suspect.
However, those pages are a few years old and they do not specify that this
was about JoeJoe's program or about some program of the same name.
This sort of thing has happened many a time.
I am sure that the suspection in fact never was about JoeJoe's program.

JoeJoe is a well respected freeware author, who once collaborated with Ars
Technica's Arsware (RIP). I recommend his StartRight, which I do use.
His programs come with source code (or available by request)
