Update Query Failure due to Validation rules

I am update 4 fields in a table with data from another table. I have removed
all validation rules and made sure that he allow zero length is "Yes". What
else could be causing this failure.

Could there be NULLS in the data and the "Required" property is set to "Yes". If that is the case, change it to "No".
