update now or wait for sp1?

Windows Vista SP1 in general is really just a collection of updates that
have been released for the operating system since November 2006. There
really is no need in waiting for SP1 to upgrade to Windows Vista, go ahead
now.

Vista offers nothing better than XP and has more negatives than positives.
If you want to experiment with Vista install it as a dual boot.
If you install Vista as an upgrade you cannot go back to XP, and you
probably will want to.

Wait for SP2.

Well that's simply not true. You need to stop lying about Vista, which
is something it appears you know nothing at all about.

If you install Vista as an upgrade you cannot go back to XP, and you
probably will want to.

More of your misleading lies?
Give it up!

well i already am on vista and i dont feel like going back to xp. i havent
experienced any negatives so far! it installed faster, the look and feel is
awesome, applications load faster, search feature is kick a$$, in built
programs are more user friendly, networking is easier, the side bar is a
great tool, it boots way faster than xp. the only thing that i think could
have been better was the defragmenter.

not to mention the impoved start menu with search, ie7, wmp11 (wow!), media
center and photo gallery.

sp2!! i dont see any sp1 yet!

He is right and you are wrong franky poo..

if you like vista it shows you know sh*t about it! LOL

Any educated computer user would see right away that its horrid and stupid.

i certainly dont doubt the way vista defrag works and i'm sure it would be
better than xp. but what i say is there could be a graphical representation
on what is happening like in xp.

SP1 was available already since Dec. , it just doesn't update automatically
for you. Go:
Control Panel>System and Maintenance>Windows Update

find and install manually.

wmp11 (wow!),

YOU GOT TO BE KIDDING!! WTF???

tell me, did you take any pills that said "ms brainwashing pills" on the
bottle?

Vista is poo poo they decided to remove everything that you need from the
interface or hide it very well, but decided to put in your FACE, UAC all the
time and nice sidebars with bad quality gadgets!

Oh vista sucks

well i ran windows update. its is not listed there. i went to the ms website
and searched and it is rc1 and not a recommended update. so i'll wait for
the rtm.

Thanks for the link. I particularly appreciate the part about increasing
the usability of my computer while defrag is running. I've tended to leave
my computer alone in the past during the process because I was afraid that
using it would mess something up. Also avoided hitting the pause or stop
button for the same reason.

The Service Pack 1 update is limited to testers, its not commercially
released or even meant for production environments. The point is though,
there is no need in waiting to deploy Vista, the same collection of updates
you are now getting will be same ones you are getting in Vista SP1.
