Update Link Table Path in Code

I'd like to be able to update my link table's path in
Code.

I can run query on the system object (MSysObjects) to
obtain the table name in current database, Linking Path
and linked table name in external database. But I can't
update the fields in system object. It would be WONDERFUL
if I could--easy coding!

Any one knows how to update the fields in MSysObjects?

If not, any simple way to do this? I have seen some
complicated coding on this. I just think there must be a
simple way ...
