Mike

Hi,

When viewing the Update history from the WU page, you can click an update
and a new window with some information about the update should appear.
But the window is empty. (about.blank) I post it here because I think it is
a problem with Internet Explorer, not with WU. Suggested some fixes (it is
not my computer) like regsvr32 urlmon.dll and others. The problem is still
there.(only the WU page)
Is it a setting in IE or is it related to WU?

Thank you for your time,

Hi

Make sure you haven't blocked any pop ups on that site.

Hi,

That was my first suggestion to the poster (Dutch newsgroup).
Forgot to mention this. He has also tried the solutions described in:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/281679/en-us

The SoftwareDistribution folder seems to be OK, I asked him to post details
about DataStore.edb and Download folder.
It's a peculiar problem, I cannot find anything in Google and MS databases.
Should I post the original message in a WU or IE newsgroup?

Mike.

Get him to check his pop-up blocker software to allow pop-ups from the
Windows Update site. For configuration instructions regarding 3rd party pop
up blockers refer to the documentation for the pop-up blocker application.
Configuring the pop-up blocker feature included in Windows XP SP2
1. Open Internet Explorer.
2. On the Tools menu, select Pop-up Blocker.
3. Select Pop-up Blocker Settings.
4. In the Address of Web site to allow box, type
windowsupdate.microsoft.com.
5. Click Add.
6. Click Close.

When I had that problem, I just set my pop up blocker to allow pop ups on
the WU site.

If this hasn't helped post the original message in the Windows Update
newsgroup:
(OE newsreader)
news://msnews.microsoft.com/microsoft.public.windowsupdate
or
(Web)
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/...=microsoft.public.windowsupdate&lang=en&cr=US

Make sure you detail your OS.
