GameXP v1.5.1.120

Overview :

Game XP is intended to optimize the performance of your computer for
gaming needs. It tweaks and modifies various XP settings (cache
settings, CPU priority etc.) and optionally disables or stops several
Windows services that are usually not needed. The program does not
require any installation, and does not need to be running at all times.
Game XP extends your operating system's capabilities and makes Windows
faster and comfortable for maximum gaming experience.

What's New:

* Removed separate explorer task that it takes more system
resources.
* Added some Desktop & File System & Network optimization.
* Optimized Boot system settings.
* Rewritten Restore state dialog screen routines.
* Add routine to reregister system (DLL) files for solving common
application problems.
* Made some cosmetic changes.

One has to watch out that it disables System Restore, so even if you make
a restore point to try and go back to just in case you're dissatisified
with the performance, you can't access Help and Support.

The home page has some suggestions to resilve this:

http://www.theorica.net/faq.htm

but I managed to get Help and Support back by running services.msc and
reactivating Help and Support. Nevertheless, if you want to be able to
have a backup just in case things go pearshaped, I wouldn't use GameXP
except in a separate hardware profile, not your default profile.
