Update Front end form

Hi I would like to create a way of updating my front end
in a run time access. The way I had thought of is to
close the database down, open up a maintainance database
which replaces the new front end file copying the old one
including data to a bak file. The data from the old db
would be transfered into the new front end to complete.

I know I need a module or an add on to close the database
and open another, does anyone know its name and do you
know if it can be included easily to a runtime version.
