Update Excel tables in Powerpoint file

Chris

Dear all,

I encounter a problem when I made a Powerpoint file.
I want to make a Powerpoint file which outputs a list of winners in a
competition. The list of winners are to be output from an Excel file
immediately after the competition. Therefore, several Excel spreadsheets
objects are linked inside the Powerpoint file and want them to update while
the Excel files are updated. However, I find that the spreadsheets in the
Powerpoint file cannot be updated when the Excel file is updated. May I know
if there are any marcos which can help me in this problem?
Thanks for your attention.

Best Regards,

Create your spreadsheet, save it, then copy the content you want to use in PPT.

Switch to PPT and choose Edit, Paste Special and put a check next to LINK.
Click OK.

Now the data will be linked to your Excel file.
If you update the info in the Excel file, PowerPoint will update it in your
presentation the next time you open the file.

Hello,

PowerPoint does not have the capability that you are looking for without
resorting to VBA, add-ins and/or ActiveX controls..

If you (or anyone else reading this message) feel strongly that PowerPoint
should provide support for dynamically updating (live?) content during a
slide show(e.g. data views, tickers, timers/clocks, etc.) without having to
resort to VBA, add-ins or ActiveX controls, don't forget to send your
feedback (in YOUR OWN WORDS, please) to Microsoft at:

http://register.microsoft.com/mswish/suggestion.asp

As with all product suggestions, it's important that you not just state
your wish but also WHY it is important to you that your product suggestion
be implemented by Microsoft. Microsoft receives thousands of product
suggestions every day and we read each one but, in any given product
development cycle, there are only sufficient resources to address the ones
that are most important to our customers so take the extra time to state
your case as clearly and completely as possible.

IMPORTANT: Each submission should be a single suggestion (not a list of
suggestions).
