Allway Sync v2.0.11

Overview :

When you work with documents on multiple computers you probably have to
copy files from one device to another. Even if you have enough memory
to track all the file changes in your mind there is still a better way
to apply your skills. Let Allway Sync take care of recent changes in
your files. It looks for the latest version of a file in specified
folders and copies it to other folder, e. g. synchronizes them. Unlike
other file synchronizers that just copy file with most recent file
modification time Allway Sync implements a sophisticated algorithm that
does not depend on accuracy of system clock. Therefore Allway Sync is
fast, safe, stable and also easy to use. All you need to do is to
specify local or network folders (directories) you want to be equal and
the program does everything else. If your computers are not connected
use a removable drive to synchronize them. Allway Sync is designed to
work both ways (all ways), thus it's not a backup software. However
each synchronized folder always contains a copy of another one, so you
get file backup with no affort.

What's New:

-Language files updated,
-Documentation updated.

I wouldn't consider this tool as freeware. I can't use it
anymore, I get this annoying and unreasonable message:

=================================================Excess of typical personal usage is detected. Please buy Allway
Sync Pro or enter license key if you already did. You will be
able to continue to use free version when past 30 days usage
statistics becomes moderate. Note: changing system time may
result in improper file synchronization.
================================================And I'm just a normal private user ...

BTW, as mentioned before, this tool has a lot in common with

http://www.cis.upenn.edu/~bcpierce/unison/

I wonder if this is covered by the GNU Public License.

Try harder.

It's in Cygwin, and it's also available at
<http://www-stud.robinson.cam.ac.uk/~mob22/unison/> which you get to
from the main Unison site by clicking on "Downloads" and then scrolling
to the bottom of the page and clicking the "Contributed Ports" button.

Use the "2.10.2" binaries, and download the dlls zip file and extract
them to somewhere on your path.

It's about as difficult as finding your arse in the dark with both hands.

Cheers,

Yeah, I noticed...
I'm trying the software now.
Looks like it does a very good job.
Going to remove Alway Sync from my site today...
Thanks for the suggestion!
