updatable snapshot or report?

Karrie P.

Is there anyway i can send a report via sendobject,
snapshot or other out of access by email to a client and
1) retain some formatting, and 2) have the client add
data to the report to send it back? (no need to import
back into access).

The sendobject has been a disappointment due to
formatting, snapshot does not allow updates, exporting it
doesnt seem to work either?

The purpose is a offsite inventory check, i send a
balanece sheet, they send back the corrections..

thanks for any advice

Karrie.

You can export a report to HTML. With any HTML editor, including Notepad,
the user can update that ... though it would likely be a lot easier with an
HTML editor.

You can save to RTF which can be modified with Microsoft Word. I've found it
a bit more work to get a close match to my original format with RTF/Word
than with HTML.

You can save a report to an Excel spreadsheet, which the user can modify.

There are lots of possibilities, it seems to me.

With your report open in Preview, check the options for "Save As" and
"Export" in the File menu.

Perhaps you could send an Access database with the reports
data in it...you could zip up the database...that way they
could edit the data via a screen you set up and then rerun
the report if needed...just an idea...if they don't have
Access, I think there is a way to send a runtime version
of Access
