Up graded from windows me to XP and myMicrotek Scanmaker will not

I have downloaded the new driver from Microtek and I still keep getting the
message scanner not found. I have a yellow ? in the divice manager. I don't
know how to find the conflict. any help.

Yes and that is where I downloaded the new driver. But it still comes across
as device not found. I have made sure it was plugged in , turned on, after
rebooting.

You may have to un-install the "older" driver that was installed in ME,
before you upgraded.

Open Device Manager. Right-click on the entry with the yellow ? and
select Uninstall.

When the uninstall is finished shut down and restart the computer. It
should now redetect the device and load the proper (=the updated one
you downloaded) driver.

If it will not uninstall try rebooting into Safe Mode and then
uninstalling it.
