I have a new dell laptop and cannot unzip files. Doesn't win-zip come with
the xp operating system? If not, where can I download it for free?

Thank you Bert - But when I clicked on the .zip file it gave me a box to
select what program to open it with and there was no unzip file to use. I
finally had to download a free one that unzips only and gives you no choices
to unzip to where or anything so I really prefer the windows version. I have
a Dell with wind xp media edition. What program or file am I looking for?
OR- if I go inot the add/remove programs and look into windows section, where
is the unzip file I can find?

If you right click on the zip file, there should be a menu option to
unzip, or un compress or something like that.

If there is one unzip application that must be purchased, then it might
as well be Winzip. Visit http://www.winzip.com/. Otherwise, take your pick
off Google.

See if this helps. Go to Start | Run. Paste in this command, then click Ok
regsvr32 %windir%\system32\zipfldr.dll

This will take effect immediately but you may need to reboot to get all of
it back.
