this point i noticed this dam advert lays on top of my wall paper ( i can
see the edges of windows classic underneath) it allows all my desktop files
to be seen but its got an icon saying to remove click here this directs me
to smartsoftware which tries to sell me the removal tool ...... in safe mode
the thing does not appear ....ive ran up to date copies of spybot and
adaware and CWshredder and stopped anyting running on startup ive also
tried stinger virus scan but its still there laughing at me i have seen in
my add/remove programs windows update SL 1 also hotfixes SP2 ... i thought
service pack 2 was still beta and i cant ever remember downloading SL1 im
using win xp home edition ...... any ideas would be gratifully recieved
hope my explantion is not to confusing

I don't think you have caught everything. What Spyware tool did you
use? Try Spybot Search and Destroy. Also try Hijackthis which I like
for it's clarity.

Never heard of Stinger antivirus. Try a house call from
www.trendmicro.com but some trojans can be a real bugger to get rid
of.
