unwanted software

The version of Windows which I am using was pre-loaded on my machine when I
purchased it. Regrettably it was accompanied by a number of other software
products which I didn't want and which, in some cases, continually make their
unwelcome presence felt. Can anyone tell me how I can remove these things
without compromising the functionality of the system please?

This has been the marketing nature of OS's (Operating system's), ((which
seem to have become almost inextricably combined with GUI's (Graphical User
Interfaces), across the past decade and more)),
specifically Microsoft products ! e.g. "MSN" products and "online
services" added to the list of installed "Programs."

Have you perused XP Control Panels' "Add/Remove Programs" list, in order to
view the list of installed application porgrams, which can be uninstalled.

After uninstalling unrequired application programs, you might like to run a
"registry cleaner" program in "MANUAL" mode, to help clear up some of the
mess left behind by "that," (often), 'token gesture' uninstall routine.

Note that "Registry cleaner" programs often cause serious damage, so choose
one that lets you view proposed changes to your system registry, before
implementing changes it suggests, to your system registry, and never let it
charge ahead in "AUTOMATIC" mode.

I use WinCleaner OneClick, (because it came free on a magazine disk), and
because, to date, it hasn't made any "c**k ups" ! :-)

The PC Decrapifier will uninstall many of the common trialware and
annoyances found on many of the PCs from big name OEMs.
