unwanted sites in favourites list

every time I restart my computer I find a list of sites
installed in my favourites list and my home page keeps
changing

Windows saves information for each user, including their favorites, in each
user's own user profile. In short, here's where your favorites should be if
you've got Windows 2000 or XP:

C:\Documents and Settings\%USERPROFILE%\Favorites

Each local user has their own 'Favorites' folder. NOTE: The 'All Users'
profile also has a 'Favorites' folder--if there is anything in this
directory, all local user profiles will have the favorites located in this
directory in addition to whatever favorites they have in their own profile.

You have probably been Hijacked. It is known as Scumware. 1, 2, 3 and 4
