Unwanted/repeated data lines

I have prepared a query-based report that gives a total by status number of
the number of registrations for a specified period. The report detail
section has 6 lines: one line for each status, including labels and text
boxes; line 5 is an underscore; and line 6 is the total line. I have set up
Grouping/Sorting by Status and to Group on "Each Value".

All the data elements and sums are fine. My problem is that the 6 data
lines repeat for the number of records contained in the query. I've tried
to reduce the size of the page but all that did was to put the unwanted data
on separate pages.

What do I need to do to limit the report to the 6 lines as described above?

TIA!

How do I limit the report to the six lines and eliminate the unwanted

If you want the 6 lines to display only once in your report, they must be in
the Report Header or Footer section. If you want them to repeat for each
Group, put them in the Group Header or Footer.

When I put the lines in the report header or footer, I get "error" in the
text boxes that have functions in them, like =sum(IIF) and Count. ???

Are you sure you are using the report header and footer and not the Page
Header and Footer?

*thwap* - it was in the page header, not the report header. That's way
you're the MVP and I'm not :-D

thanks!

I am creating a report based on sorted data in a particular field and I
created a group header. I was having the same repetition problem until I
moved the subqueries from the detail box into the group header. Now instead
of repeating data for the number of records, it displays once for each unique
entry in that field with which the database is grouping.

Excellent post!
