Unwanted mystery sound

Hi all,

I've encountered this mystery sound before on other installations on
other computers and now it's reared it's head again on my current
computer. So I thought it was about time I see if someone can help me
figure it out.

At irregular intervals I hear, what sounds like to me, a page turning
or a swooshing sound. Actually there is 2 parts to the sound. Sort of
like lifting a page then laying it flat and it lasts about 1.5 to 2
seconds. Nothing I'm doing seems to be causing it. It can happen as
regular as once a minute or there could be long periods where I don't
hear it.

Anybody know what this sound is?

I dunno, but I've had a screeching sound once come out of an XP machine as it
was booting - really strange., and no Im not making a joke about windows.
