unwanted merge messages

I receive a number of similar documents (agenda, minutes etc) when I open one
of them I get asked if I want to merge it with another document with a
similar name. The options are "yes" "no" and "no do not ask again" I always
use one or the last two options but the next time I open it or another
similar document I am presented with the same options. How do I switch this
option off?

This comes from settings in Outlook that sent the document. See this article
