unwanted links and homepage

I've got a situation that I'm not sure about. Every time
I pull up the internet it displays a homepage that I
don't want. Furthermore it adds about 3 or 4 sites that
I don't like to the favorites file. I always clear out
cookies and temporary files but these sites always re-
appear. Does any body know what's up with this? What do
I need to do? Thanks
