Windows XP on Sony Vaio Notebook GR390

There is a google logo on my desktop. It does not function in any way and I
can't move it or remove it. It is smack in the middle of my desktop
background photo of my beautiful grandson. Can anyone help? Grandma Jeannie

Go to the Display applet in Control Panel and look on the Desktop tab.
Click on Customize Desktop, and then click on the Web tab. You will see
that there are checkmarks next to "My Current Home Page" and probably
"Lock Desktop Items". Uncheck these. Now go to the Desktop tab and set
the background to "None". Apply and OK out. Is the Google logo still
there? If not, go back to the Display applet's Desktop tab and click
the Browse button to set your grandson's picture as the background.

If that didn't work, post back with more information about the logo,
when it appeared, and what changed between the time you didn't have it
and the time you did.

thanks for the reply, another poster has already solved this for me, just
fyi for future reference, I was not able to right click on the logo, it was
completely ignored, right clicking brought up properties for the desktop.
but all is well now, I can see my little love! Thanks.

Where were YOU when I had a similar problem?

:-)

I'll save this one for later. This has happened to me
several times.

Good luck!
