Unwanted horizontal line

Every time I print one particular document, it prints a horizontal line centered above the last paragraph. It does not show up in the page layout display and I can't figure out how to get rid of it. I've tried deleting the last couple paragraphs and retyping them, but it still shows up in the same place in relation to the text. Any ideas?

does the problem still occur?

have you checked the settings in Tools/Options/View? Are the checkboxes
for Drawings and Picture Placeholders activated or not? (first should be
yes; second no).

Hi =?Utf-8?B?VGlmZmFueV9jdGQ=?=,
Yes, the line still shows up if I copy the paragraph into a new
document, and the check boxes are as you specified. The line is still
there, and quite honestly, everyone who's looked at it is at a loss!Well, I'm not sure what to suggest. I take it you've selected the
paragraph and gone to Format/Borders and Shading and set that
explicitly to "None"?

And click the white arrow on the Drawing toolbar and dragged the mouse
across the page? Do any "selectors" show up on the line?

Gone into the Header/Footer view and tried the same?

Pressed Alt+F9 to make sure there are no IF fields in the header or
footer that may be generating the line on the last page?

How about copying the text on the last two pages and using Edit/Paste
special to paste as plain text?
