Unwanted bullets or indents what ever they are

Hi
My messages in Outlook have been invaded by little marks that are at the
beginning of every line and then it applies a dot in between every word. The
marks are a broad I with a blob on the top inside. What is this and how can i
get rid of it? I have tried to cut and paste an example but it pastes it
without these annoying punctuation marks.
Thanks

This is a Word setting not Outlook.

Use CTRL+SHIFT+8 to toggle it on/off

They're invisible characters, and are very helpful when creating documents
(well i find them useful). The sort of backward p blob is a carriage return,
the dots are just spaces.

They're invisible characters that I find very helpful. The backwards P blob
thing, denotes a carriage return, the dots you mentioned are spaces. You can
turn them on and off from the menu as well as the control keys. I think the
icon is the same backwards p blob.
