unwanted automatic installations?

i am having a problem with automatic installation attempts at start up for
software such as Corel paint shop and others. These were on my new Dell which
was recently purchased. I tried removing the program and it moved into trying
to automatically intall andother software piece that I didn't want anyway.
What is happening? It is so annoying and takes a few attempts at closing just
to get them to go away! I did recently restore to a point before this was
happening to no avail. Thanks for any ideas

Hi Tena,
Open RUN Command from the start Button and type in :
msconfig click OK and on the new window click on Start UP Button and
uncheck the pre-mentioned programs.
Also if you don't want to keep them you can uninstall them in the Control
Panel and click on Add/Remove Programs Options and unistall from there.

Please let us know.

Thank you so much for the quick response. I actually had done these things
you mentioned. I did not see anthing in the strat up files that related to
the programs that kept trying to install. And when I removed Corel paint
then it tried in install photo shop and when I uninstalled that it tried to
install word perfect and when I uninstalled that it tried to install some
thing that did not appear in Add remove called Sonic something! Whew!
Computers sure do strange things ( I know I know its all attributed to human
error somewhere!) ! Any other ideas of what may be causing this bizarre
happening?

Hi Tena,
These what call a free Trail of Bundle of Softwares for a 3 mont or so if
I'm Right!, try to remove all traces for Coral Paint shop, Pinncales and
others from the Registry (be carefull in editing the registry always backup
the registry before editing it ).
Do you have a DVD by this company?.
If your Machine still under warranty take to the shop and they will sort it
out for you without you missing arround with it.

Thanks you so much. I appreiciate the advice. You are right, it is "bundled
software." I will contact Dell as per your suggection. I don't want to make
it worse with my inexperience.
