Untouchable directories with a "." in their names

Hi!
On a Win2k server we've got some directories (I don't know how they have been created, I only know that they are there), the names of which contain the "." character. They act quite like the űíőé directory under DOS - cannot rename, cannot delete, cannot enter into it.
I tried dir /x but no short filenames were shown. (According to the help this means that short filename maintaining has been turned off.)

Any ideas what to do with these directories? (Renaming would be the optimal solution.)

Thx,
Gus

Try running chkdsk.exe /f and then try the steps in this article:

Did you use "attrib" to check the attributes in a commandline and set the
attributes as needed?
