I've set up a local network at home and beside the LAN icon it says
(unsecured). It is a DLink router. Is this anything to be concerned about?
I have windows firewall activated. Is there a way of changing the router
options to make it (secured).?
Is this a wireless router? If so, create a secured network by
defining an encryption key. See your router's product manual (which
probably came on a CD-ROM) for details. If you don't have a manual,
you can download one from
http://support.dlink.com
If it's not a wireless router, where are you seeing this LAN icon? Is
it in the Network Connections folder, the system tray at the lower
right of the screen, or somewhere else? Does the icon say anything
else?
