unsafe attachments in drafts

I came across an issue today that I never had before. I somehow accidentally
included a .lnk file as an attachment in an email before saving a draft of
the email. When I opened the draft to send it, it warned me about the unsafe
attachment (which was when I first discovered my error). I wanted to remove
the attachment before sending the message, but there was no way to do so. I
ended up just copying the body of the message into a new email and deleting
my draft. Shouldn't there be a way to remove unsafe attachments of draft
messages?

Thanks for your response. I'm not really interested in opening the
attachment...i just want to remove it. I feel like there should be a way that
Outlook lets you delete blocked attachments - especially on messages that
I've created and are just sitting in my drafts folder (without necessarily
being allowed to open/save it locally). It wasn't really a question, it was
more of a "product feedback" post.

You need to reduce the security to delete it or open it.

I don;'t expect them to make changes just to the drafts folder. They've been
quite clear that they will not loosen attachment security - which leaves the
method of reducing the security yourself and deleting the attachments.

I certainly wouldn't want them to prevent users from attaching potentially
dangerous attachments... and that would be one way thing they would consider
for this wish.

It seems odd to me that you would need to lessen security in order to delete
a potentially dangerous attachment (effectively neutralizing the danger).
Like I said, I understand why they wouldn't want to provide the ability to
open or save the attachment; that's not what I'm talking about.

All I'm saying is that I created a message and accidentally attached a
potentially dangerous file. Outlook wouldn't let me remove my attachment
before sending it. I think that the product should operate differently than
that.
