I'm having problems with my computer not responding in certain cases. It
happens with 2 different pcs and the same thing about both is they are using
AMDX2 cpu 4200+ and the same board Asus A8N SLI Deluxe. Here's what happens.

All problems happen on both pcs in the same manner.
Windows xp pro sp2 all updates.
When I open IE and delete cache, temp files, or clear history it freezes IE.
Every single time from a fresh install on. The app freezes and the mouse
turns into a waiting mouse. If I click on the window border it says not
responding or sometimes it just does nothing. If I click the X to close it,
the internet options window it closes IE and explorer so the desktop goes
blank and then re opens.

I have say a bookmark.html file on the desktop or anywhere. I double click
to open it and IE takes a long time to open. Up to 2 minutes, usually much
less, but way longer then just opening normally. It doesn't respond. Once
open it then takes another long time to load/display the document file. Up
to 45 seconds or so. While IE is opening the mouse turns into a waiting
mouse icon. I can use other parts of the system just fine.

If there is a network icon in the sys tray and I double click it to open it
also takes a very long time to open, a minute or so, maybe more. Other parts
of the system are ok durring this time.

Now this happens on both pcs where the same thing is the board and cpu. I
also have a non AMDX2 cpu pc that never has this problem. It uses a 3500+
and an A8V Deluxe I think, Asus.

The computer with 3500+ is an ABS Ultimate M5-64. I've had it since Oct 2004
never having anything like these problems. The other pc I got from ABS was
the AMDX2 4200+ which was an M6 I think. I had these problems with it and
sent it back for a refund. I then got a custom made pc with the same Asus
A8N Sli deluxe and it too has the same problems.

I don't understand.

Thanks for the advice. What am I to look for and do I look like right after
the problem happens? Is it in the application link or the other 2?
