Unread Messages

P

Philip Reimer

Hello.

For a few days now I've been having trouble with the view in the "unread
messages" folder (I am using OL2003 in German so I don't know if unread
messages is the correct name here, but it's the folder with the
magnifying glass on the icon in the list of the favorite folders.
Furthermore I'd like to apologize for my poor English).
Usually I let Outlook show me all unread messages sorted by folders
there, but when I view the "unread messages" now, all folders therein
are "collapsed", therefor only the names of the folders are shown and
not the actual messages in them. I think that is because I once
accidently used Shift+Mousewheel over one of the folders, causing it to
"collapse". I can use the same Gesture to expand the folder again, but
when viewing "unread messages" again after having switched to a
different folder, the folders are collapsed again.
Does anybody know a solution to this "problem"?

Thanks in advance,
philip

Sounds like you've enabled Show In Groups. You can change this by going to
View-> Arrange By-> uncheck Show In Groups

-What do the Outlook Icons Mean?
-Create an Office 2003 CD slipstreamed with Service Pack 1

Yes, Show In Groups is enabled because that's what I want. And in front
of each group there is this + sign. When klicking on it, the group
expands and the messages in it are listet. What I'd like to have is that
the groups are expanded by default. The way it was before.
Sorry, if my original post wasn't clear enough.

Aha, rightclick a group header and choose Expand All Goups. Does it stick
now? Otherwise reset the current view on that folder View-> Arrange By->
Custom...-> Reset Current View

That almost did it. Under View-> Arrange By-> Custom-> Group(ing)
(bottom-right corner) you can choose how groups shall be displayed.

Thanks.
