In WinXP Pro, when I boot up I sometimes see "1 unread message" below my
login name. Sometimes this happens, sometimes not. But is there is not an
unread message in my mailbox when I open Outlook, which means this is some
sort of error. Does anyone know what might cause this? Thanks,

Chris,

Thanks so much, the TweakUI fixed it, and I'm sure I'll have to use it from
time to time.

Hi,
Download and install TweakUi for Windows XP from the link below. Once
installed open the program and goto Repair>>Select Unread Mail Account.
