Unprotecting a worksheet

I have a file that was not originally protected and for some reason now is. I
tried to unprotect, however, it is greyed out. This workbook has macros as
well. Not sure how to handle this.

Hi,

It sounds like this is a shared workbook. Unshare with
Tools|Share workbook and remove the checkmark

You should then be able to unprotect

Worksheet protected or Workbook protected?

You use both terms and the word "file" in your description.

What exactly is protected?

Unprotecting is quite dependent upon what you have protected and do you need a
password?

If the workbook is shared, you cannot unprotect a worksheet or workbook under
Tools>Protection.

If you have multiple sheets selected you cannot unprotect sheets but you can
unprotect the workbook.

Not even sure if it is protected. I am assuming whatever is wrong with the
workbook, is the same thing that is wrong with the individual sheets (4 in
total).

I still can't tell if you are talking about a workbook or a worksheet(s) but I
will assume worksheet(s)

Do you have more than one sheet selected?

Right-click on a sheet tab.

Is "ungroup sheets" available?

If you want to send me the workbook by email, change the AT and DOT in my email
address.

It will not even let me right-click on a sheet tab. I will send the workbook.

I have a similar problem. I'm working with Excell 2007 and I may have
selected a feature incorrectly. I can't get the second and third worksheet
to unprotect. They are shared... but I can't seem to unshare them. HELP!

Can I email the spreadsheet to you so that you can help me?

I don't have 2007 installed.

You say worksheet 2 and 3 are shared.

You can only share an entire workbook, not a couple of sheets.

So what exactly are you trying to describe?
